Box Jellyfish

Me and my boys were watching the movie "Seven Pounds" last night, we were amazed at the box jellyfish. How can something so beautiful cause instant death. It reminded me of our Christian walk. There are many things today that present themselves as beautiful and right but can actually kill the soul. Paul warns us in Colossians 2:21 "Do not handle! Do not taste! Do not touch!"

As Christians we should always be aware of such dangers. We should constantly be praying for one another and watching each others backs.

I found a little literature about the beautiful Box jellies:

Box jellyfish
are invertebrates, and they;re named that way because of their shape which is like a cube. Box jellyfish are best known for the extremely powerful venom possessed by some of their specie,s and stings from such species are excruciatingly painful.

Box jellyfish venom is the most deadly in the animal kingdom and has caused at least 5,568 recorded deaths since 1954, each tentacle has about 500,000 sindasites which are harpoon shaped needles that inject venom into the victim.

Box jellies can be found in Australia, the Philippines, Vietnam, and other tropical countries.

"God makes the most beautiful things doesn't He?"
